Christopher Alexander

Christopher Wolfgang John Alexander (synt. Wolfgang Christian Johann Alexander; 4. lokakuuta 1936 Wien, Itävalta – 17. maaliskuuta 2022 Sussex, Yhdistynyt kuningaskunta)^[1][2] oli itävaltalaissyntyinen arkkitehti. Hän opiskeli ja väitteli tohtoriksi Cambridgen yliopistossa, mutta muutti vuonna 1958 Yhdysvaltoihin. Hänestä tuli vuonna 1963 professori Kalifornian yliopistoon Berkeleyssä ja hän asettui asumaan Berkeleyhyn.

Alexander oli vuodesta 1996 Yhdysvaltain taide- ja tiedeakatemian jäsen. Alexanderia pidetään suunnittelumallin isänä. Hän oli yksi A Pattern Language -kirjan kirjoittajista vuonna 1977.
