ロバート・スカラピーノ

ロバート・スカラピーノ（Robert A. Scalapino, 1919年10月19日 - 2011年11月1日^[1]）は、アメリカ合衆国の政治学者。カリフォルニア大学バークレー校名誉教授。専門は、アジア政治、政治発展論。

経歴・人物

カンザス州レブンワース生まれ。ハーヴァード大学で博士号取得。

1941年太平洋戦争勃発直後、アメリカ合衆国軍部の指示により、ドナルド・キーンらと共にコロラド大学にて日本語を学ぶ。その後は日本や大韓民国など東アジア地域の研究に務めた。

2011年11月1日、呼吸器感染症による合併症のためカリフォルニア州オークランドで死去。92歳没^[1]。
